Tonkawood Ski School was founded by Nancy Bizzano and Ellie Crosby in the 1970s and has provided more than 45 years of skiing instruction and fun on the slopes for families in Minnesota. In 2023, the Bennett and Hull families purchased the ski school, and we couldn't be more honored to join this incredible community of winter enthusiasts.
A season, not a single lesson
Most ski programs sell a lesson. Tonkawood runs a season. Your child skis six times with the same program, in a group of skiers at their own level, building on the week before each time.
Young skiers are welcome here
We teach skiers from age three. Very young beginners are not an afterthought at Tonkawood — they are a large part of who we teach, and every skier is grouped by what they can do rather than how old they are.
We are very excited for the Tonkawood season and helping to turn little snow enthusiasts into lifelong skiers, one fun lesson at a time!
We hope, with the help of many instructors, parent volunteers and families, to continue the Tonkawood tradition for many years to come.
